Michelle Li

Bio

​        Michelle is a senior tax manager working at ITS – US Core group of Ernst & Young Montréal
(“EY”). With more than 20 years of experience, she has worked with both private and public
companies, offering a wide range of services which include: accounting, auditing, tax consulting,
as well as Canadian and US tax compliance. She worked as a member of Asia-Pacific Initiatives
Committee at EY since 2016.

 

​        While working with PwC from Dec 2012 to July 2015, Michelle was active to work with
Chinese investors and/or clients in term of their merger & acquisition opportunities and other
related tax services. She has successfully coordinated with one Chinese real estate company for
their acquisition in Quebec in 2014.

 

​        She is a licensed certified public accountant (Delaware), holds a master degree in US taxation
and Bachelor degrees in Accounting and Finance. She has passed all the exams of Canadian
CPA, CGA exams and related experience requirements. As well, she has completed parts I and II
of Canadian CICA in-depth tax course. She is fluent in Mandarin English, Mandarin, and
functional in French. Prior to her emigration from China, she worked at the Industrial and
Commercial Bank of China for 8 years.

​        Starting from May 2012 to present, Michelle serves as a treasurer and acts as a board member of
Hockey Ministry International (“HMI”), a Montreal-based charity with its operations in Canada,
in the U.S and some countries in Europe.

 

​        From November 2017 to August 2019, Michelle worked as treasury and board member of
CCSMEs (Canada-China Small and Medium-sized Enterprises), a non-profit organization with a
mission to serve Chinese and Canadian SMEs who operate in a bilateral trading context.
